The focus of this lab is on research and technological innovation in Location-based Service (LBS).
Location-based services refer to those services provided to mobile users based on their current location and context. These services are available to users both indoors in complex buildings and outdoors in urban and suburban environments.
Looking at the anatomy of the LBS, it can be presented as the intersection of three main technologies: Spatial Information Technology (GIT), Internet, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Numerous services are provided by the members of the lab and its external collaborators in various sections of location-based services.
The services include positioning methods based on Wi-Fi, BLE, and smartphone sensors and improvements.
Navigation, wayfinding, and guidance of users in Indoor and Outdoor as well as integrated in both environments are the services provided in this section.
Location-based information and services play a critical role in smart city components: urban services such as transportation, municipal waste energy, health, green spaces, air quality, and water.
Design and implementation of collections of stationary and mobile wireless sensors network having their positions is of services of this segment.
Modeling of buildings in different level of details and infrastructure design based on BIM and CityGML are of the services in this section.
Modeling context as well as reasoning secondary context for LBS applications is the main services of this division.
